Several months ago I had gone to State College (not the college...just the town...) to take a class for a week that my work sends some of their employees to. I had heard in the past that Governor Mifflin sends all of their Administrative Staff there as well. It's a pretty big deal, and you learn a lot. Anyway...my first day of class I went around to greet everyone...as you know I have no fear in talking to people. As I was getting into a conversation with the guy sitting next to me, I asked him where he worked, he said Governor Mifflin School District. Well, naturally we hit it off right away, Jamie works there, my kids go there, and I think it's a pretty decent school, for a public school system.
We've kept in touch through emails since then and he's one of four Administrative Associate Principals at Mifflin, under one lead Admin. Principal. The whole point to my story is that Mifflin rotates their 4 Associates through with the students, so the one that the students get in 9th grade stays with them through to 12th grade. I'm not one to talk much forwardly about praying about stuff...but man have I been praying that something would give to ease my anxiety about my 5' 7", blonde, 14 year old daughter going to high school...this helped, a little. I introduced her to my friend, her future principal, and they talked for a few minutes. He said that he wants to to lunch with me sometime so we can get a chance to talk.
I think 9th grade is going to be harder for me as a Dad than Kindergarten was...
